Concept · AIX-STUDIO is the XSEDES division for creative and experience design. It develops the concept, the spatial layout and the interaction design together, so that every idea is shaped by what can be engineered, built and run. The result is a design the engineers can build from and the client can approve with confidence.

What does X-STUDIO do?
X-STUDIO designs the experience as a whole: the concept, the space people move through and the way they interact with it. It works from the X-CONSULT strategy where there is one, or from the client’s brief directly. Every decision is tested against what the engineers can build and the operators can run, so the design survives production.
How does it work with the other divisions?
X-STUDIO takes its starting point from X-CONSULT and hands its drawings to the engineering and fabrication teams. X-LAB prototypes interaction ideas that need proof. X-IMMERSIVE, X-PLAY and X-LIVE rely on X-STUDIO to set the creative direction for their media, mechanics and shows. The designers stay on the project through commissioning, so the intent is checked in place.
What do you receive?
A design package the other disciplines can build from. Typically this includes the concept, spatial plans and elevations, interaction flows, visual and motion direction and storyboards or walk-throughs. Drawings are prepared so that engineers, fabricators and programmers can work from them without reinterpreting the intent, and so the client can review the whole experience before production.
Does X-STUDIO design from scratch or work from an existing concept?
Both. X-STUDIO can develop a concept from the brief or take an existing concept and make it work in a real space. In either case the design is checked against engineering, fabrication and operation from the start, so nothing is drawn that cannot be built.
How does design stay connected to engineering?
Designers and engineers work on the same project from the first review. Interaction, structure and media are resolved together, so the design carries the real constraints of the venue, the systems and the run. Engineering serves the idea, and the idea is drawn with engineering in view.
What does X-STUDIO deliver?
Design documents that other teams can build from: the concept, spatial plans, interaction flows, visual and motion direction and storyboards. Each is prepared at a level the engineers and fabricators can use directly, and the client can review before any production begins.
