The boat room
A long timber boat with the proportions of a Kerala vallam rests beside a wall of LED ocean. Visitors sit in it and look out at the sunken city, so the journey begins on Kerala water and ends somewhere else.
What if Atlantis was never lost, and you could walk in?

Atlantis is built as one story in six beats. You do not tour a row of rooms: the story escalates from a quiet gateway to something you made yourself.
Step out of the everyday and through a gateway into the deep.
Stand inside the ocean, then walk through the city with the people you came with.
Touch the legend and it answers: artefacts rise, creatures turn, a map rebuilds.
Your face, your movement and your drawing become part of the world.
Each creative room ends with something ready to send.
A print, a coffee and something from the shop before you surface.
A long timber boat with the proportions of a Kerala vallam rests beside a wall of LED ocean. Visitors sit in it and look out at the sunken city, so the journey begins on Kerala water and ends somewhere else.
Projection covers the walls and the floor, and a mirror wall doubles the room. Shoals circle overhead and scatter from children’s feet. Run through it, or sit and let it pass. It is the room most people will photograph first.
Put on a headset and the arena becomes the lost city. There is no seat and no treadmill: you walk, crouch and reach, and you see your own group beside you inside the same world, at the same moment.
Four stations tell four chapters: the lost city, its ecosystem, its ancient technology, and the line between myth and reality. Transparent screens and holographic effects respond to touch, so visitors do not just view artefacts. They meet them.
Step onto the ring and choose a world: Atlantis or Kerala. Moments later you see yourself transformed as one of its citizens, ready to keep and share. Photographs are taken only with consent.
A robotic arm sweeps a cinematic camera around your group for a slow-motion vertical clip. A separate full-body scan turns a visitor into a 3D figure for the screens of the room.
A child draws any sea creature at a glowing table. It is scanned, and it swims across the wall with everyone else’s drawings. It is the simplest technology in the building, and it may well be the room parents remember most.
These rooms come from the Indian masterplan, which describes up to 16 zones. The touring route is still being finalised, so the rooms may change from venue to venue. The café and shop close the visit.
Most attractions do one of these things. Atlantis is designed to combine the surrounding image of a projection show, the shared presence of VR and the participation of an interactive room, inside one story.
| Format | What you do | The story | How you share it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlantis: The Immersive Odyssey | Walk, touch, create, and enter VR with your group | One story from gateway to café | Together, at your own pace |
| Projection art show | Sit or stand and watch a surrounding film | Usually one artist or theme, one main room | Together, as an audience |
| VR arcade or VR game centre | Play a short game or a ride | A menu of separate titles | Often one player or one team per session |
| Museum or exhibition | Look and read | Objects and panels | Quietly, side by side |
| Amusement park | Ride, swim and spend the day | Separate rides | A full day, mostly outdoors |

X-IMMERSIVE designs the experience; XSEDES engineers, fabricates, installs and operates it with one team. About X-IMMERSIVE
It is a walk-through underwater experience set in the lost city of Atlantis. Visitors move through themed rooms that combine wraparound projection, LED walls, interactive displays, AI portraits and shared free-roam VR. XSEDES is developing its India edition under the X-IMMERSIVE division.
Not yet. The India edition is in development, and Kochi is the planned first city. No venue or opening date has been announced. This page will carry them as soon as they are confirmed, so anything claiming dates or tickets before then is not from XSEDES.
Tickets are not on sale and prices have not been announced. Booking details will appear on this page once a venue and dates are confirmed. Schools, colleges and groups can register interest now through the XSEDES contact form.
The Doha edition’s official page advised allowing about one hour. The length of the India edition depends on the final route, and it will be published with the booking details.
The Doha edition was described as suitable for children aged six and over. Age guidance for the India edition, including any separate limit for the VR arena, will be published before tickets go on sale. A children’s drawing world is part of the masterplan.
Free-roam VR means you walk around a real room while wearing a headset, rather than sitting in a seat or standing on a treadmill. In Atlantis, your group shares one virtual city at the same time, so you can see each other and explore it together.
Most of the planned rooms use projection and screens, with no headset. The VR arena is one part of the visit, and arrangements for anyone who prefers to skip it will be confirmed with the route. You will not get wet: the ocean is made entirely of light and sound.
No. Atlantis: The Immersive Odyssey is a touring immersive experience and has no connection to the Atlantis resorts. The name comes from the same legend, which appears in Plato’s writing.
There is no physical evidence that it was. Atlantis comes from two dialogues Plato wrote around 360 BC, the Timaeus and the Critias, and scholars generally read it as a moral and political story. The experience treats it as a legend worth entering, not as history.
XSEDES, an experiential multimedia technology and engineering company, is developing it under its X-IMMERSIVE division. ActiveMe, the Belgian studio behind the 2023 Brussels edition, is its planned technology and content partner.
The India edition is designed to be modular, so it can pack up and move to another city after a run of about 45 days. Further cities will be announced as venues are confirmed. Venues interested in hosting it can contact XSEDES.
Yes, XSEDES is opening conversations with venues, brands, schools, colleges and tourism bodies. Send the city, the space and what you have in mind through the contact form. The team replies with what the experience needs and how a partnership could work.
The India edition has not opened, and venue, dates, prices, final rooms and age guidance are still to be confirmed. Every visual on this page is an AI concept illustration of the planned experience, not a photograph of an earlier edition. Details of earlier editions come from the public sources listed here.
